Sweden's Bombus signs with Century Media Records
Century Media Records has announced the signing of Swedish metallers Bombus. The band's new album, "The Poet And The Parrot", will eb released in August. A track from the Cd, "Apparatus", will precede the full-length effort on a strictly limited (to 500 copies) seven-inch vinyl single and as digital download. The single will be available from May 2, to coincide with Bombus' European tour as the support act for Danko Jones.Bombus was started late 2008 in Gothenburg by axemen Feffe and Matte as a two-piece but then quickly emerged to a full band with Ulf (bass) and Peter (drums) joining the party. Heavily influenced by MotÖRhead, Melvins, Metallica and Poison Idea, the freshly expanded four-piece started to play its first live shows and evolve their own unique sound more and more. After releasing three seven-inch vinyl singles and the a self-titled debut album in 2010, the band matured a lot by laying down a good amount of live shows what also gained them a massive die-hard fan base. Recently the new bass man Jonas came in the band, as Ulf stepped back from his duties on stage and now takes care of the band's artworks and videos. The story continued and it was the summer of 2011 when Century Media Records got an eye on Bombus.
Comments Bombus in statement: "Bombus are proud to announce that we are teaming up with Century Media Records for the release of our upcoming album 'The Poet And The Parrot'. Century Media has always been a prominent label with a high-quality roster, and we are happy as pigs in shit to now be a part of it."
